I
graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 1986 after
completion of Community Welfare Social Sciences Studies. I followed
this with Life Line counselling training and then counselling
individuals and families as a Loss & Grief Counsellor. My
counselling practice and expertise developed further from training
and working with other professionals, professional supervision
and counselling individuals and families for over fifteen years
with Queensland Health.
The Gestalt Institute training in experiential
therapy added to my expertise in working for years with families
coping with addictions, crises and chronic pain.
Throughout the years my training has
included a series of workshop training sessions in Conflict
Resolution, Addiction Counselling, Rational Emotive Therapy,
Motivational Interviewing, Kinesiology, Applied Yoga and Human
Energy.
My training continues to be ongoing
as I currently enjoy being a student of the Masters of Counselling
Course at Queensland University of Technology.
My
counselling has developed from the experience of training with
professionals, professional supervision and working with people.
This has promoted my style towards an eclectic practice. This
suits the needs of many individuals rather than focussing on
one model (Psychoanalytic, Cognitive, Pathology, Humanistic,
Experiential, Solution Focussed, Rational Emotive, Behaviourist
etc).
I am a registered member of the Queensland Counsellors Association.
My Australian business registration number is 44 576 997 842
(ABN).
Where
you would like your counselling session?
If
you feel that the privacy of a quiet rural country retreat with
views to the sea would be calming and therapeutic then my room
at Mt Mellum, Landsborough would most likely provide that for
you.
If
you prefer the sounds of waves and the vibrant tourist area
then my counselling room at Mooloolaba with other skilled practitioners
might suit your needs.
